Let's talk mental health!

When it comes to mental health, whilst a lot more is known these days, there is still a lot of confusion around the topic. This can often mean dangerous stigmas can be encouraged which could negatively affect those who may need support and result in them not reaching out. So we want to take this weeks blog post to talk about some of the important information to do with mental health!

  • 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health issue each year. That means someone you know might be going through a tough time right now.

  • Anxiety and depression are among the most common mental health disorders in the UK, affecting millions of lives.

  • Suicide remains a significant concern. In the UK, over 6,000 people die by suicide each year, and it's the leading cause of death for young people aged 15-29.

  • Mental health issues impact people of all ages, from children to the elderly. Ensuring support across all age groups is crucial.

  • Mental health disparities exist, with certain groups facing higher risks, such as LGBTQ+ individuals, veterans, and people with disabilities.

  • Despite the challenges, there is progress. More people are seeking help and breaking the stigma surrounding mental health. Let's take a moment to acknowledge the brave individuals who have shared their stories, advocating for mental health awareness and support.

Together through sharing our stories and own experiences with mental health, we can normalise talking about what we are going through and also educate others about mental health!
