You could help us win a grant of up to £1500 as part of the Tesco’s Community Grants Initiative and we would really appreciate your help!
Burton and District Mind are one of three groups to have been shortlisted for the Tesco’s Community Grants initiative. Tesco works with Community Charity Groundwork, which sees up to £1500, £1000 and £500 being awarded to local community projects!
Three groups from every community get shortlisted with shoppers then customers are being invited to go into Tesco stores to vote for who they want to win the grant. Voting is open throughout July, August and September and can be done using a token given at checkout each time that you shop. So make sure to keep a hold of any tokens you collect!
This is a scheme that has already seen £96 million to more than 46,000 projects across Britain. Groundwork’s National Chief Executive, Graham Duxbury, said:
“Tesco Community Grants continues to give local projects the boost they need to help their communities thrive. By funding services which support young people and reduce food poverty, we hope to facilitate positive change from the ground up across the UK. We are pleased to have been able to help so many local good causes over the years and look forward to seeing what community organisations can achieve in the future with the right resources.”
Through this grant Burton and District Mind could continue to fund some of our valued and needed services which will go towards improving the lives of our community across Burton, Lichfield and Tamworth. Every year we normally help around 3000 people but with major events such as the pandemic and cost of living crisis having such a massive impact on the mental health of our community, there are more people than ever that need our help! However, our services and resources can often be quite costly so if we want to help more people we are going to need some help ourselves.
We would really appreciate any votes you can give us to help us win this grant
