Celebrating 35 Years!

Burton & District Mind are celebrating our 35th Anniversary this year- that is 35 years of supporting mental health.

From forming in 1991, with the aim of supporting people struggling with mental health problems, the charity has grown and grown over the years. Now in 2026, Burton & District Mind are made up of multiple teams, all dedicated to providing the highest quality mental health support using qualifications and lived experience.

We truly couldn’t be prouder to offer such vital services and projects to our community.

Now in 2026, the charity as a whole supports around 4000 people a year with their mental health and is always looking to support more. Whether that be through…

  • Fantastic engaging Activity Projects
  • The Safe Haven Crisis Café that opens 7 days a week throughout the year
  • Various different Counselling and Coaching services
  • Future Focus helping people take charge of the changes they wish to see in their lives.
  • Signposting vital mental health information.

So how are Burton & District Mind celebrating their 35th Anniversary?

With a 35-hour Gymathon!

This means members of the team will be taking part in 35 hours of gym related activities with at least one person active during each hour.

Funds raised during this will be used to match-fund Mind Makeover Workshops, our own pastoral support and other projects in the localities.

Anyone is invited to get involved (fancy-dress welcomed) and raise funds, as well as people to volunteer as Marshals, making sure everyone is safe, motivated and hydrated!

And this isn’t limited to the Burton & District Mind team – if you know people, a group, a business, a gym, anyone who would like to get involved, please let reach out.

If you’d like to get involved, please contact fundraising@burtonmind.co.uk
