Walk & Talk Football!
At Burton & District Mind, we are excited to announce our Walk and Talk Football Project is coming back in October!
It’s been a few years since we last ran Walk and Talk Football; however, we hope to emulate much of the success of the previous course, which went on to inspire various other sports projects of ours such as Bat & Chat.
Here are the key details of the project:
Start Date: Thursday 15th October 2026
Time: 10:30am to 12:30pm – Each session will be around 2 hours long
Venue: The Scholars Ground, Church Street, Chasetown, WS7 3QL
The sessions will involve playing Walking Football, connecting with others, having fun and sharing some wellbeing tools & techniques we can all use to better support ourselves and others.
All participants will also receive a FREE pair of 3G pitch football boots!
Now how can Walk & Talk Football support mental health?
Instead of us listing different ways that it may help, we feel that some feedback from the previous course may be more helpful:

“The benefits of this group have been very obvious! To see the confidence and enjoyment each week from every member has been infectious. I come along wanting to play football in a safe environment – first time I’ve ever played and I can’t explain how much I have got from this group and how much I look forward to it.”
“I love the socialising with everyone here. Great bunch of guys and a lot of fun to talk and play football with. Wednesday is one of the days I look forward to waking up and playing football and a chance to socialise. Makes life a lot less boring during the week.”
“Its fantastic, something to look forward to each week. To meet new people and play as a team. In general, the best thing happen to me. I come in all weathers.
“The Walk and Talk Football Sessions do amazing things for my mental wellbeing. I feel positive and stress free after. I’m also meeting new people and developing my confidence. I find the football group as something to look forward to each week.”
